Reverb 10: 6 of 31 – Make

Prompt: Make. What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it.

The last thing I made was a baby shower gift for one of my sorority sisters. I enjoy making frames and photo albums for others. Here is an example:

I used scrapbooking material and purchased a 12 x 12 Scrapbook frame from Michael’s Craft Store.

I want to make my annual Year in Review Page to highlight the positive things for 2010. Here are two examples from the past:

I have also wanted to make a quote dictionary for a long time, as well as a family binder. I have all the pages, now I just need to create the actual binder lol (for the family binder). As far as the quote dictionary, I have it laid out in my head, but I’d like to get it out of my head and onto paper.

One of the things that I would like to do more of in 2011 is scrapbook and the best way to do that would be to schedule some “Crop” time in my calendar. I would love to find a community of scrapbooking women like myself in Chicago to meet with once a month or so, so that we can “feed” our creative habit. I also want to finally enroll in Stacy Julian’s Library of Memories class to finally get my scrapbooking life in order. Find more information here: http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/lom2010.php

BTW, I am THRILLED that today’s prompt comes from the writer of The Happiness Project which I am currently reading.

  1. I love how thoughtful your scrapbooking is ,especially your annual reviews. Yours this year is gonna be so full of goodness🙂 Can’t wait for coffee time/scrapbook time🙂

  2. these pages are absolutely lovely. and One Day, they’ll be even more precious than they are now. (which is darn near unimaginable.)

  3. These pages are a down payment on future joy. Wonderful stuff….

Your pages are so beautiful and expressive. I’ve scrapbooked with my best friend and I’m always intimidated by how perfect hers are, they look like a book, not very personalized. I love yours! So much more personal.

  5. I am always happy to see scrapbooking pages… I CANNOT do them to save my life, but I like to look at them. Do you own a manual typewriter, btw? If you get one that is in good shape (not too hard on ebay… they are everywhere), they are heaps of fun to have around. I love mine! I am analog at heart!

    • A Manual Typewriter is on my list of things to purchase in 2010. I love them for a functional reason, and I especially love the way they look. I’m still working on designing my house, but I’d love to incorporate a few small typewriters into the mix… Hi five in the air for analogs😉
